Sludgemeisters DOWN To Release Live DVD and Double Album Of Euro Tour 2005
by Rock Feeder on Sep.25, 2010, under Rock Music News
The DVD film documents the band’s first activity following the extended hiatus that followed the cycle of second album, ‘Down II: A Bustle In Your Hedgerow’ (2002). The band’s iconic frontman, Phil Anselmo describes the film thus; “The idea of reforming Down had been stirring in our collective guts since the Spring of 2005. There wasn’t a member of the band who hadn’t felt the pull…we just needed to get together and jam. It’d been four years since we’d all stood in the same room, let alone played music together. With no record label, no publicity, no opening band, nothing (!), we decided to test ourselves by basically doing a ‘word of mouth’ 6-week tour of Europe. Adding more fire in our bellies was that the tour would be capped off by playing an ‘unannounced guest’ opening slot on the main stage at the Download Festival. Down had never been overseas in the band’s existence. The film is documented footage of the tour, screw ups and sour notes included. It’s raw and real and shows the re-rebirth of a little ‘side project’ from New Orleans that’s managed to stand the test of time for damn near two decades.” The main feature runs for two hours and incorporates the documentary footage, interspersed with live performance tracks as follows:
Intro / Lysergic Funeral Procession / Lifer / Losing All / Rehab / New Orleans Is A Dying Whore / Ghosts Along The Mississippi / Learn From This Mistake / Underneath Everything / Temptations Wings / Something On My Side / Hail The Leaf / Lies / Perfection Of The Seed / Eyes Of The South / Jail / Stone The Crow / Bury Me in Smoke
As well as the DVD, there’s a twin audio CD set that includes a full ‘never-before-released’ live set from that same European tour. Tracklisting runs as follows:
CD 1
Losing All / Lifer / Lysergic Funeral Procession / Rehab / Temptations Wings / Ghosts Along the Mississippi / Learn From This Mistake / Hail the Leaf / New Orleans Is a Dying Whore
CD 2
Lies (I Don’t Know What They Say But….) / Underneath Everything / The Seed / Eyes of the South / Jail / Stone The Crow / Bury Me In Smoke
Aeon Drummer Nils Fjellstrom Leaves Band After Bust Up
by Rock Feeder on Sep.14, 2010, under Rock Music News
Swedish satanic Death Metallers AEON are looking for a new drummer! If you have the guts and skills make sure to submit! Read the statement from AEON below for details on the vacant spot and why Nils has left the band.
“Our drummer, Nils Fjellström has decided to leave the band on a very short notice. The reason for this is personal / private and Nils has chosen not to speak his mind out to the public about this. We will respect his wish not to do so, and therefore we will not reveal any details nor answering questions about this. As you may know, this is not the first time Nils is out of the band, but it’s most certain the last. How strange this even may sound, I really think that we will be better off without him in the long run. We need a drummer who we can rely on at all times, someone who can be there for us when opportunities show up etc. To take this band any further, we need a line-up where everyone has the same visions and goals.
At least this time around, there where no big tours planned like the last time Nils bailed out on us. We only had one show planned ahead that was scheduled to take place october 16. We kindly asked Nils to do at least this show with us before he left, but he simply didn’t agree to do so. This leaves us with no choice but to cancel our spot in this event. There is just too little time to rehearse a full headline set with a new session-drummer. Perhaps the promoter (Hårdrocksklubben) will find a new headliner for this evening or it will get cancelled. Keep your eyes open on Hårdrocksklubben’s (www.hardrocksklubben.se) website for further information about this event.
We will now be focusing on finding a worthy replacement for Nils and until we do, we will try to fill the spot temporarily with session-drummers.
This statement will also serve as an launch for a new drummer
If you are a drummer and think that you have what it takes to replace Nils in Aeon don’t hesitate to send us an application with some audio / video of you playing drums to: aeon_666@hotmail.com <mailto:aeon_666@hotmail.com> mark the subject with “Drummer application”. You don’t really need to be able to play exactly every little detail Nils is doing on the albums. The most important is that you are able to play the basics in the songs and the rest can be worked out from there. Naturally, we would prefer a drummer who lives in Sweden, but we are also open for distant / foreigner drummers as far as Europe goes, at least.”

COF CRADLE OF FILTH New Album ‘Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa’ Out 1st November
by Rock Feeder on Sep.07, 2010, under Metal Music News
The site will feature info about the album, a gallery featuring new band pics and elements from the album artwork, a link to download a MP3 of the track ‘Lilith Immaculate’, downloads and more. The site will be updated on a weekly basis with video blogs, fan competitions, promo videos, an Iphone app, new downloads and more. From September 22nd we shall also be adding previews of a different track from the album every Wednesday.
‘Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa’ is the band’s ninth studio album and in the word’s of Cradle’s infamous frontman Dani Filth is “without doubt the fastest and most brutal album we’ve created to date. As an acquaintance of the band so aptly noted, this is like ‘Iron Maiden on crack in a graveyard of angels!”
“This album is Cradle at our most sinister and darkened fairytale,” continues Dani. “A gothic horror themed slay-ride of fervour and perversion; yet amidst the orchestral melodrama and lush, cinematic production, there sits stalwart a ravening beast of furious riffing, flesh ripping vocals and monstrous, unstoppable percussion.”
Grammy nominated Cradle Of Filth have been pioneers of extreme music since their debut in 1994 and have continued to evolve with each of their subsequent releases. Unafraid of ruffling a few feathers, the band have continually refused to bow to convention or to conform to prevalent trends and fads. Yet despite this uncompromising stance the band are still the most successful British heavy metal band since Iron Maiden, with legions of fans around the globe.
Never shy of embracing the epic, Cradle have constantly sought to push the boundaries of their art. Whether through elaborately theatrical stage shows (incorporating giant lumbering puppets, fire-breathing dancers, freaks and stilt-walkers from the notorious Circus Of Horrors), provocative merchandise (including the now legendary ‘Jesus Is A C***’ t-shirt), breathtaking artwork or the weighty subject matter of their albums (their previous one was a concept album telling the story of a French Lord who fought alongside Joan Of Arc, before embarking on a horrific killing spree), this is a band who have refused to be confined by the labels that have been placed on them.
The band (comprising of Dani Filth-vocals, Paul Allender and James McIlroy-guitars, David Pybus-bass, Martin Skaroupka-drums and Ashley Ellyllon-Keys) recorded ‘Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa’, the follow up to 2008’s ‘Godspeed on the Devil’s Thunder’, at Monkey Puzzle studios near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. Cradle Of Filth remain stalwarts to the satanic horror ethos by again composing a fully blown concept album, this time based on Adam’s first wife, the lascivious Demoness Lilith; throwing Medieval nuns, Knights Templars, Greek mythology and lashings of sex, occult lore and violent bloodshed into the smelting pot, to create a darkly erotic nightmare set to their unique scope of supreme vampyric metal. And with an as-near-as-dammit release date of All Hallow’s Eve 2010, Cradle Of Filth are snarling at the leash to get out to all of their fans across the world. “We can’t wait to play this shit live,” admits Dani. “Long live the ‘Filth!”

by Rock Feeder on Sep.06, 2010, under Rock Music News

Juju Sophie (Vocals/Guitar) | Nez Greenaway (Drums)
‘Soulful, groove-laden and yet voluminously abrasive’ Rock Sound
‘Strong stuff indeed’ Total Guitar
‘A gloomy but visceral post-punk thunderstorm’ Music Week
‘Little Fish has the raw rock spark that doesn’t depend on fame’ New York Times
http://www.myspace.com/littlefishmusic
Onstage, Little Fish are sensual thunder, drawing you in with dangerous warmth. Juju’s self taught guitar style blazes through as Nez vigorously propels himself and beats his way through the songs. The band’s visceral live show is intensified by the addition of a Hammond organ which helps the band to convey more fully what they laid down on the album with producer Linda Perry at the helm. Listening to their music, either live or on their debut album, you can really hear the band’s intense creativity in all its glory. JuJu explains the process – “I have to be by myself in a room when I’m writing so no one can hear me shouting and screaming like an exorcist. Some people can write in public, but not me. For me it’s a solitary experience, so I can unlock my lyrics and bare my soul and inspiration.”
