Their debut single, ‘Favourite Thing About Jane’, was released in May. Sunday Times featured it as their ‘hottest download’, XFM called it a “Britpop anthem” and an acoustic session aired on the station on 5th June. They will be performing a live session on Radio 2 on 29th June.
The indie-rockers’ US tour hit 15 major cities from San Francisco to New York. They created quite a spectacle travelling in a specially converted London red double-decker bus (see photo below). They survived extreme desert temperatures, tyre blow-outs, a smashed top deck window by an unfriendly lamp post, tropical storms, gallons of beer (the tour was sponsored by Bass) and some of the country’s less salubrious motels. They appeared on many TV stations (including ME TV, ABC7, Music Plus TV, Fox News) and radio stations on route. San Francisco Chronicle named them “the best kept secret at SXSW” and Music Week’s Editor “undeniably talented, with more than a couple of songs to their name..” after seeing their Musexpo show at The Roxy in Hollywood.

London 19 June 2007. As if using a combination of different mediums in his live stage show wasn’t enough, “reborn Gothic Elvis” (NME) and glam-rock music hall performer/human installation contraption MR SOLO (www.myspace.com/mistersolo) is proud to introduce yet another art form into his repertoire, in the form of nORMAN wISDOM, a fanzine-based exhibition collaboration between himself and Pop Art (www.popartlondon.co.uk).
A collection of paintings, photos, cinema projections and bird-boxes, which reflect the self-consciously iconographic image of MR SOLO and explore the strange collision of vulnerability and invincibility it embodies, the exhibition will also include popArtidol performances on the karaoke stage, which MR SOLO himself will take for a (musical) performance at around 8 in the evening.
“When I began writing and performing songs the words and images seemed to constantly intermingle, and what made a good chorus could equally make an exciting painting,” says MR SOLO of his latest endeavour. “Pretending to be a pop star and the earthly conduit for a dead magician eventually lead me through the gates of the Emerald City, where I resolutely failed to ignore the man behind the curtain. Trite as it may seem, I am now clicking my heels together and relearning the joy of channelling ideas from an outside source.”
Huddersfield metallers Nex round off their tour supporting Head Automatica with a show at Cardiff University tonight (June 19th).

Nuerra Records Vows Suit’s Against Dream On Music Corp.(Korea), Rock Empire Ltd.(Taiwan) and Neil Zaza -
Nuerra Records, the previous label to guitarist Neil Zaza indicates that they are preparing legal action against Dream On Music (Korea), Rock Empire (Taiwan) and Neil Zaza. On January 01, 2001 Nuerra Records entered into a licensing agreement with Rock Empire and December 01, 2002 with Dream On for the Zaza titles, “Staring at the Sun” and “Sing”. Since this time, both Dream On and Rock Empire have failed to make accounting and or payment’s to Nuerra for the royalties indicated in their respective agreements. Recently, demand letters were sent from Nuerra Attorney’s in Los Angeles.
Mr. Space K. Chen of Rock Empire, claims, “there is no stock for these titles and we don’t manufacture it anymore “. However, despite long term efforts made by Nuerra, both companies continue to actively market Zaza along with two additional Nuerra titles from Michael Lee Firkins - “Decomposition” and Jettison Eddy - “Trippin on Time”. Both of these titles licensed to Dream On also remain unaccounted for, says Michael Phelan of Nuerra Records.
Phelan continues by saying that we would prefer to utilize our professional lives and creative resources in more effective ways. However, when your financial interests rely within companies on the other side of the world, whom have otherwise ignored our numerous polite attempts, that becomes difficult. Hopefully, we can create some much needed “ethical proactivity” from all of the parties involved”, Phelan said. Mr. Chen from Rock Empire issued a written statement to Nuerra saying, “I believe God will damn you and this behavior like a blood sucker deserves punishment to go hell”.
