Techno industrial metal punks PITCHSHIFTER have announced that they are planning
a new studio album to coincide with their 20th Anniversary in 2009 !!
An exclusive track, from the tentatively titled ‘20 Years of Mayhem’ album, will
be given away to fans only at their upcoming UK shows.
In an exclusive interview on the band’s website, pitchshifter.com, frontman J S
Clayden states:
“Pitchshifter is a habit none of us can kick. We love making music and we love
playing live. We figured it’s about time we made some new tunes and hit the
stage again.”
By 2009 the band’s career will have spanned two decades; transporting Messrs
Clayden, Clayden, Bowld and Rayner on tour in 24 countries, including
appearances at Ozzfest, Vans Warped Tour and Reading Festival.
The band have released 8 albums, countless singles and EPs, won Kerrang Awards,
lost 5 guitarists, collaborated with the likes of Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys)
and John Stanier (Helmet) and worked with platinum producers including Machine
Freeman (Lost Prophets), Simon Effamy (Pantera) and Dave Jerden (Red Hot Chili
Peppers).
Pitchshifter’s “no bullshit” approach to fashioning their own brand of music has
secured their legendary status in the international metal scene and to this day
they still maintain a loyal army of fans.
This year the band will be returning to the place they are most at home - on the
road in the UK. Two dates have been confirmed for October:
London Astoria on October 12th.
Nottingham Rock City on October 13th.
Supports are confirmed as BRIGADE, Kerrang! favourites THE GHOST OF A THOUSAND
and heavyweight newcomers SHAPED BY FATE. The free ‘Cohesion’ EP is only
available at these two shows and also features tracks from all four bands.
