Concert promoters “Rock of Ages Entertainment” has just announced the line-up for it’s first ever charity festival “Rock of Ages Fest”. The event, being held on Saturday September 8th and Sunday, September 9th 2007, will be donating profits to the charity CANCER RESEARCH UK.
Alongside some of Britain’s greatest rock bands will be “Girlschool” who will be headlining day one and former Iron Maiden vocalist Blaze Bayley” who will also be featuring a brief reunion set with the original members of “Wolfsbane”
This event is the first ever “Rock of Ages Fest”, and is taking place at “The Palace” in Tamworth, the home town of both Blaze Bayley, and the legendary “Wolfsbane”. Both are long-established local heroes. Sadly however, this event is limited to just 500 TICKETS and they are likely to go fast at the announcement of “Wolfsbane” being added to the bill! Tickets are available from www.ticketweb.co.uk
One of the bands performing very aptly remarked that “For Tamworth having “Wolfsbane” reunite, even briefly with Blaze Bayley, will be bigger news than The Police coming to town” !!”
Two further bands are to be announced on Monday, June 18th 2007 and will complete a bill of incredible rock & metal that is gracing the stage in the name of the charity Cancer Research UK. More information in relation to the festival can be found on the festival’s myspace page www.myspace.com/rockofagesfest - the event’s official website launches on June 23rd at www.rock-of-ages.net
