On July 2nd Gizeh’s sister label ‘Loom’ releases 2 very special recordings. Her
Name is Calla’s 1 track 16 minute masterpiece ‘Condor & River and Glissando’s
longest release to date ‘Loves Are Like Empires’. Both bands have early July UK
dates together.

Brooding and haunting, the sound Her Name is Calla omit brings to mind a more
stripped back Radiohead or a more compact Godspeed You! Black Emperor. ‘Condor &
River’ is the band’s first release for Loom after a couple of self-released EP’s
and marks a true progression of the sound the Leicester-based quartet is
striving to achieve.

This release brings a few loose ends together for the Leeds duo - a collection
of Glissando’s work to date as they prepare for their debut release-proper on
Gizeh later in the year. Here we get a taste of the variety Glissando ensues as
the record moves from ambient soundscapes to some beautful vocal-led movements.
This is the duo’s 3rd Loom release and contains the motions of the likes of
Stars of the Lid and Charalambides next to the more ’song’ based sounds of Low
and Cocteau Twins.

Both records will be available exclusively from the Gizeh Records online store
and at all forthcoming shows.

Glissando also embark on a full UK tour in October alongside dates in Denmark
