Thrice release the final part of ’The Alchemy’ project with volume 3 & 4 ‘Air & Earth’ allowing the band to complete their metamorpeous from emo punk to experimental with a quality rarely seen.
‘
Although completed, the Earth & Air installments of the series was held back until listeners have had a chance to fully absorb the first half of the Alchemy Index’s massive, multi-layered complexity. A milestone offering from a band with so much still left to explore, the success of this seemingly daunting effort hints at the potential for even more challenging, yet wholly unpredictable, creations in the future.
,
“From here, we can kind of go anywhere,” Kensrue adds. “I don’t think anyone really knows what will be next.”
On The Alchemy Index, Thrice destroyed the rock rulebook and created their most engrossing and accomplished work to date…The true evolution of a band.

Kids In Glass Houses forthcoming single Give Me What I Want (May 12th) has got off to a flying start! Instantly added to the ‘Upfront’ playlist across the XFM network (daytime spins a-hoy!), the track also received its first spin on G-Cap’s ‘Music Control’ last night!
,
The smashing accompanying video was quickly playlisted on NME TV, MTV2, Kerrang TV and Scuzz TV (more to follow suit) and is this week the main featured video on the FRONT PAGE of MySpace!!
,
Kids in Glass Houses debut album Smart Casual, is released May 26th. It’s a heady amalgamation of the pop and alternative rock that soundtracked their formative years! A raw energy fused with a knowing respect and admiration for the hook laden legacies of heavyweight established artists like The Police, Prince, The Cure and Duran Duran.
,
Kids In Glass Houses were ‘Best British Newcomer’ nominees at the Kerrang Awards last year and voted ‘Best Unsigned Band’ in the Kerrang readers poll the week they signed to Roadrunner! Their debut single Easy Tiger picked up fans and plays at Radio and TV alike. Gaining plays and playlistings on BBC Radio 1 (Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley, Huw Stephens), Bauer’s ‘In Demand’, G-Cap ‘Music Control’, XFM, BBC6Music, Kerrang Radio & TV, MTV, MTV2, Chartshow TV, Scuzz, NME TV, as well as beating Crystal Castles to a performance on BBC Three’s ‘Lily Allen & Friends’.
,
They have toured with 30 Seconds to Mars, fellow countrymen Lostprophets, Manic Street Preachers and more recently Paramore. Frenzied performances to at some of last summer’s festivals including Give it a Name, Reading & Leeds, Download and Hyde Park Calling, along with their own Sold Out headline tour, have proven them untiring experts at entertaining on a grand scale.
,
The band will support Simple Plan in London next Fri April 18tt before setting out on their own UK Tour to support the release of the single and album…..

Leicester based rockers, My Awesome Compilation, return to the fray with two awesome new releases : single ‘Ghosts On The Underground’ on May 19 and album ‘Frontiers’ on May 26.
,
Produced by Hundred Reasons’ Larry Hibbitt, these offerings are intense and focused blasts of punk rock energy.
,
The quartet (made up of two sets of brothers) have enjoyed some breathtaking successes in their short life. A split single with Fallout Boy (2004’s ‘As Always’), the use of their ‘Put Up A Fight’ single on the Australian Big Brother and the best selling Saints Row computer game, tours with the likes of The Darkness, A, Fallout Boy, Funeral For A Friend and Alkaline Trio (that took in Australia, Japan and Europe), and a level of critical and commercial success that many UK acts would yank their eye teeth out for!
,
Now in 2008, My Awesome Compilation are all about expanding their musical horizons and stamping their authority on the world.
,
And album ‘Frontiers’ looks set to do just that!

With a number of live shows lined up for the foreseeable, catch these guys in any way you can!

DOWN I GO RELEASE ‘TYRANT’ ALBUM ON JUNE 2!
,
“Down I Go are awesome.”- Daniel P Carter BBC Radio One Rock Show
,
London crazy oiks, Down I Go release their second album for Undergroove on June 2 2008, entitled ‘Tyrant’.
,
The follow-up to 2006’s ‘This Is Disastercore’ sees Down I Go exploring the theme of tyrannical world leaders throughout history, so like its predecessor Down I Go have successfully managed to introduce historical education into the world of punk rock. This time however, the misery of the persecuted and the persecutors, as well as the hypocrisy of each Tyrant’s rule is reflected in the musical brutality that Down I Go deliver.
,
As drummer Ben Standage explains: “When we started researching bad people like Vlad the Impaler and Pol Pot, we realized it’d be a much darker album and that we’d have to take it more seriously. With ‘Disastercore’, all those deaths were accidental, but suddenly we’re writing about torture, and massacres and ethnic cleansing, which were all very deliberate. There’s no room for humour in this one.”
,
Recorded at Ben’s house in London, ‘Tyrant’ sees Down I Go push themselves musically, incorporating eight piece string sections recorded at their local church, and orchestral percussion, giving songs such as ‘Tomas De Torquemada’, ‘Ariel Sharon’ and ‘Ivan The Terrible’ even more dynamic edges.
,
‘This Is Disastercore’ was released in late 2006 to critical acclaim - gaining rave reviews in Rock Sound, Big Cheese, and Metal Hammer while Kerrang! even described the album as “ingenious”. BBC Radio One Rock Show and XFM Rock Show airplay also ensued.
,
In the United States Alternative Press magazine featured Down I Go as one of their hottest bands of 2007, while in Germany the album artwork created by Jacob Stories’ frontman Stuart Lee is set to feature in a forthcoming coffee table book of great album artwork. Stuart has once again created all the artwork for ‘Tyrant’, this time in oils.
,
It went without saying the band played a host of shows around the UK and Ireland to support ‘This Is Disastercore’.
,
In the time between the releases, guitarist Alan Booth joined Brighton metallers Johnny Truant, while Down I Go also released a limited edition EP entitled ‘This Is Robotcore’ which sold out in weeks.
,
But with the arrival of ‘Tyrant’, Down I Go have raised their game and delivered a truly educational, ambitious and glorious racket. Get ready for the revolution!
,

To celebrate their 30th Anniversary, Whitesnake will release “Good to Be Bad”, through SPV/Steamhammer Records on 21st April, their first studio album in a decade. The album features 11 new, slamming Whitesnake songs which are guaranteed to take their place alongside their better known multi-million selling catalogue.
,
Legendary front man, David Coverdale, says, “The new album contains all the elements I enjoy about Whitesnake, and more. I can hear moments that take me back to the bluesy, early years of the band all the way through the band’s musical history to fully embrace the more electric aspects of where we are now, as a band. I’m thrilled with it and can hardly wait to unleash it on an unsuspecting public! If this is indeed the last Whitesnake studio record then I’m happy to finish like this. It was a labour of love making this record…a joy… and I’m still enjoying listening to it. Can’t be bad!”
,
The 11 new songs, written by Coverdale and guitarist Doug Aldrich (who also co-produced the album with Coverdale and Michael McIntyre) provide a good balance of 8 rocking tracks and 3 ballads. Coverdale feels it’s the first ‘real’ Whitesnake album in almost 20 years, commenting “It’s very butch. Very muscular…”
,
With their blend of hard rock, soul, blues, and balladry plus a healthy dose of priapic posturing and good time fun, Whitesnake brings a welcome, positive energy to the current musical climate. Their recent release “Live In The Still Of The Night” was voted Best DVD of 2006 by the readers of Classic Rock magazine.
,
Additionally, Whitesnake will be taking to the road with Def Leppard, playing a series of co-headline shows across the UK in summer of 2008. The internationally renowned, multi-platinum band will be featuring songs from David Coverdale’s colourful career including the hits (for the choir to join in with) and new material from ‘Good To Be Bad’.
,
This is an opportunity to experience the ultimate line-up and celebrate 30 years of Whitesnake, who are:- Doug Aldrich on guitar; Reb Beach on guitar; Timothy Drury on keyboards; Uriah Duffy on bass; Chris Frazier on drums and of course, the inimitable David Coverdale on vocals.
,
“I can’t wait to get back on stage – after being in the studio for most of 2007 I am most definitely ready to let off some steam. The front row should definitely be prepared!” says Coverdale
,
You have been warned!!!
,
Special Guests on the tour are ‘Black Stone Cherry’ who hail from the USA and recently won Best New Band at the Classic Rock Awards.

From 1973 to 1976 Coverdale was the vocalist with Deep Purple, one of the biggest bands in the world. In late 1977, a year after leaving, he formed Whitesnake as a blues-based, melodic rock band to tour and promote his solo records ‘Whitesnake’ and ‘Northwinds’.
,
The band then took on a life and an identity of its own, attracting not only the supporters from Deep Purple, but a whole new audience hungry for the blues, soul and good time rock Whitesnake offered.
,
In the early 90’s Coverdale spent 3 years working with Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, on the rock classic ‘Coverdale Page’ album, before retiring from the music business for several years.

The Lazarus Plot release their latest single The Sun Shines Down.
‘
Described by The Sun as ‘one to watch’, The Lazarus Plot have managed to create their own unique sound borne from a mesh of truly diverse artists such as Massive Attack, World Party, The Divine Comedy, DJ Shadow and even Duran Duran.

One minute the band hit you with melodic guitars and pianos and you are expecting to hear a standard indie band, suddenly an unexpected loop kicks in, backwards vocals fight to grab your attention whilst countless samples and offbeat rhythms all sit neatly together, seamlessly layered on top of each other.
‘
2007 saw the band land within the psyche of the national music media following the release of two singles to widespread plaudits from all quarters…

Spread Eagle burst upon the scene playing a brand of rock that came straight from the N.Y.C. gutter. When Paul DiBartolo (guitar), Rob De Luca (bass) and Tommi Gallo (drums) moved to the City and met up with vocalist Ray West, a new attitude was instantly born.
,
While rehearsing/writing in a dingy East Village basement for their first gig, rumors began leaking out to the record industry. The group was quickly snatched up and signed to MCA/Universal, then sent straight into the studio. Additional tunes for the debut album had to be written while recording was taking place. The self-titled debut was produced by Charliie Gambetta and featured wailing vocals and razor sharp guitar, demonstrated through songs such as “Switchblade Serenade”, “Scratch Like A Cat” and “Broken City”. The honesty of Spread Eagle’s debut release quickly gained the band worldwide critical acclaim and propelled them to forefront of the genre.
,
Four years later, after the release and touring of the second album “Open To The Public” (also produced by Gambetta), the band took a break and went about their own personal projects. Rob De Luca is currently touring with the SEBASTIAN BACH BAND as direct support for GUNS N’ ROSES on their “2006-2007 Chinese Democracy World Tour”. Rob has also toured and/or recorded with UFO, HELMET, JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS, GEORGE LYNCH (DOKKEN/LYNCH MOB), MIKE CHLASCIAK (PAINMUSEUM/HALFORD), OF EARTH, OUIJIPIG, and recorded for “Grammy Winning Producer of the Year” STEVE LILLYWHITE. Ray West has been locked up in a studio in South Florida by way of NYC creating and producing powerful new music. Ray is currently fronting his new project “HOSTEL INC.”. Paul DiBartolo went on to score music in the motion picture industry (The Basketball Diaries, VH1). He now creates music under the name “Salvador Poe”. Charlie Gambetta operates his record label “Jambetta Music” (jambetta.com), breaking new and talented artists and still making the mold for the real. Spread Eagle is now reformed and Lovember Records reissued their remastered debut record in association with Universal Music.

This long-anticipated reunion between the Cavalera brothers is something fans across the globe have been clamoring for since Sepultura’s last gig in December 1996. Hailing from Belo Horizonte in central Brazil, Sepultura have gained a reputation as the one of the most highly regarded and successful death/thrash metal bands of all time, with two Gold albums under their belts - Chaos A.D. (1994) and Roots (1996). “When Iggor, and I met at the 10th Annual D-Low Memorial Show and got the instruments in our hands, it was like we had never been separated. The metal was flowing in our veins,” comments Max. “It was the same in the studio.” Recording took place this past July at Undercity Studios in Los Angeles, with Logan Mader (ex Machine Head guitarist). Mixing at Undercity is currently underway. The still untitled record is tentatively slated for a February 2008 release. Among the 11 songs set to appear are: “Inflikted,” “Bloodbrawl,” “Holy Poison,” “The Doom Of All Fires,” “Ultra-Violent” and “My Sanctuary.” A B-side cover of the Possessed death/thrash classic “The Exorcist” was also recorded.

With its soon-to-be unleashed sophomore album, Gods of the Earth freshly laid to tape, THE SWORD prepares to build upon the foundation it laid with its critically acclaimed debut Age of Winters and continues to lead modern day metal’s forward charge.
,
Conceived in Austin, TX, THE SWORD took the form of a cohesive quartet in early 2004 when guitarist / singer J.D. Cronise, guitarist Kyle Shutt, bassist Bryan Richie, and drummer Trivett Wingo joined forces. THE SWORD’s live shows quickly became the hottest ticket in Austin, as their punishing, yet melodious compositions, mythical imagery and conscious effort to slowly immobilize audiences left music fans astonished while word about the band continued to flourish and grow. In the fall of 2005, THE SWORD found a home at Kemado Records, and their critically acclaimed debut Age of Winters was released in February 2006.
,
From the moment Gods of the Earth’s lead track “The Sundering” explodes, it is immediately apparent that THE SWORD has upped the ante on a sound all its own. More ambitious, more accomplished and simply bigger, Gods of the Earth’s huge, mountaintop-friendly hooks, thunderous drumming and oceanic bass lines cut through the air like a scythe taking down all in the band’s path. The ominous vocals of Cronise weave fantastical tales rife with myth and mythology. Waves of powerful riffs and low-end thunder dominate songs such as the immediate “Maiden, Mother & Crone”, “Fire Lances of the Ancient Hyperzephyrians”, “Under the Boughs” and the paralyzing “The Black River”. Gods of the Earth instantly conveys what words can only try to describe: THE SWORD is not to be taken lightly.

Nottingham’s Illuminatus are one Spaniard, one German, one Italian and one
English gent. Their debut album ‘The Wrath Of The Lambs’ is packed with
powerful soundscapes, emotive melodies and soaring dynamics, all set
strongly against the current trend of ever more brutality and ignorance in
underground music. For illuminatus there is no scene; no bandwagon; no
fashion war. illuminatus sing about social and political issues and play
with pure passion and honesty.
‘
The band’s high impact live performances have resulted in a mass of loyal fans and despite their unsigned status, it was this energy that resulted in the band supporting acts such as Children of Bodom, Dragon Force, Nightwish, Paradise Lost and Skindred.

Story of the Year are back with a new album titled ‘The Black Swan’ which is released on the 21st April ON EPITAPH RECORDS
‘

Alternative rock heavyweights Story of the Year will release their highly anticipated new album, The Black Swan, on April 21st. Like the title suggests, the group’s third studio album is anything but predictable. Combining the addictive choruses of their platinum selling album (US, AUS, JPN) Page Avenue and the heaviness of In the Wake of Determination, The Black Swan transcends previous releases as their boldest and most accessible album to date.
,
Featuring the smash hit single “Wake Up” and the piano driven ballad, “Terrified,” The Black Swan was produced by John Feldmann (Good Charlotte, The Used, Lost Prophets, Atreyu) and “Elvis” Baskette (Chevelle, Escape The Fate, Puddle of Mudd). “Making this record felt like starting over,” says front man Dan Marsala. “We’re like a brand new band. You can hear it in these songs, we’re excited again. I think we’ve really stepped it up on this record.”
,

Continuing with tracks like the remarkably powerful and deeply personal alt-rock anthem “Tell Me” and the thought-provoking “Message to the World,” The Black Swan explores social and moral issues close to the band’s heart. With themes of war and prejudice, and taking lyrical inspiration from the likes of Carl Sagan among others, the group’s latest album finds the band in a refined state. “Musically, we’ve grown so much. We have some very unique, timeless, face melting guitar riffs and solos that have come to define our sound, without compromising the idea of a classic song,” explains guitarist Ryan Phillips.
,
Story of the Year’s first single, ‘Wake Up’ is up on band’s MySpace page and will be released in the UK on May 19th. Live dates:
,
20-May London Mean Fiddler
21-May Birmingham Academy 2
22-May Manchester Academy 2
23-May Glasgow QMU
25-May Leeds Slam-dunk Festival
,
‘Wake Up’ will be the first single released from the album on the 19th May
