Cleveland’s heavy metal monster, Chimaira, is proud to announce a full European tour with six UK dates.

The band is ecstatic to finally present their new album, ‘Resurrection’, to their loyal trans-Atlantic fans. Due to their constant touring since the release of the album, including a co-headlining spot on last summer’s Sounds of The Underground tour as well as acclaimed performances at European festivals, the band unfortunately had to cancel the Eastpak Antidote tour in October 2007. “We were burnt out, we didn’t have a break for so long, we had tragic losses in our families and we felt that we wouldn’t be able to give 101% to our fans, so we decided to cancel. We’ve just decided that it would be better to Chimaira’s “big picture” to sit down for three months laying down some material that is flowing through us uncontrollably.” recalls singer Mark Hunter.

However, their hunger to come back just grew bigger since then. “We wanted to make up for it as soon as possible; however great opportunities showed up for the US and Rob and I have been busy with the launch of our customs ESP guitars, but now, finally, it’s on! Our UK fans are by far the craziest and we are so happy to give them all we got! It’s been too long!” enthuses guitarist Matt DeVries.

“Resurrection” – Chimaira’s first album for Nuclear Blast – is the sound of a band reborn. Produced by Jason Suecof (Trivium, Devildriver), this fourth full-length album has been cooked up in the rehearsal room with no pretenses beyond “making the heaviest music possible,” like when the band began back in 1998. From the anthemic momentum of the title track to the epic experimentation of “Six”, through the album’s fist-pumping, breakneck-speed closing track, “Empire”, “Resurrection” raises the bar once again.

“Europe has been so supportive throughout the years and we are so thankful, we cannot wait to invade the old continent and blow you away! We promise we will make the wait worthwhile!” says Hunter.

Chimaira are Mark Hunter – vocals, Rob Arnold – lead guitar, Matt DeVries – rhythm guitar, Jim LaMarca – bass, Chris Spicuzza – keyboards/vocals, Andy Herrick – drums.
